Male plastic surgery desire increases
Increasing numbers of men are willing to go under the knife and endure surgery to achieve the body they have always desired, new figures show.
The annual review of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) found that since 2002 there has been a three per cent increase in the number of men who have undergone plastic surgery operations.
And according to the figures, men now make up over one fifth of the total number of patients who undergo cosmetic surgery.
With 21 per cent of those undergoing cosmetic procedures being men, it seems acceptance of the odd nip and tuck for men is growing.
The most popular procedure for men was liposuction but only 34 per cent of operations were surgical with 66 per cent conducted on non-surgical procedures like laser resurfacings and chemical peels.
Botox proved to be the most popular procedure for non-surgical cosmetic operations for men.
