It's just not very high-brow
The new trend in cosmetic surgery is the lowering of the eyebrows, according to new research.
Surgeons are identifying a trend when carrying out facial surgery to lower people's eyebrows as the higher arched variety are no longer in vogue, reports the Independent.
Scientists from the University of Regensburg, Germany have conducted a survey of around 350 patients between the ages of 12 and 85 and advised the "current concepts of brow lift indications need to be reconsidered".
The study found that while younger women rated lower eyebrows as more attractive, the older generation preferred the arched variety.
A report in the journal Aesthetic Plastic Surgery read: "Young people up to 29 years of age judge arched eyebrows to be unattractive and prefer the lower positioned eyebrow.
"This form has become more prevalent over the past several years and can currently be described as the new ideal."
