Hibernation is the new cosmetic surgery trend
Cosmetic surgery is being sought in conjunction with a winter 'hibernation' or recovery period, increasingly, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper published a 'cosmetic surgery calendar' which suggests that winter is the best time to take on most body-enhancing operations.
While the Christmas period allows patients the time to recover and lie-low, winter clothes through January and February allow evidence of surgery time to fade before the summer hits.
A spokeswoman for BAAPS (British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons) told the Mail: "It's not unusual to see a boost in the number of aesthetic surgery bookings in early spring."
She also said that surgery gift vouchers are becoming an increasingly popular Christmas present from partners.
The cosmetic surgery calendar advises that breast reduction or mammoplasty operations should take place in January, while tummy tucks and breast augmentation jobs are best suited to February, and body lifts to March.
