A third of women would go under the knife
One third of women would consider plastic surgery with the total number willing to do so doubling in the last year, a new report has found.
Keynote, the market analyst firm, has predicted that the UK cosmetic surgery market will grow to £1.8 billion by 2011, according to the Herald.
In comparison, the cosmetic surgery industry was worth just £144.1 million in 1998.
The report stated: "It was found that younger consumers were more open and positive about cosmetic surgery than the older groups.
"Easier access to borrowing has meant that consumers from [all] social grades can see cosmetic surgery as a realisable investment."
The survey also predicted that the UK cosmetic surgery market would grow by 131 per cent in the next four years.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, a breast lift was the most popular surgery choice with 12 per cent followed by eight per cent of women who would opt for breast implants.
