A former boss at the Bank of China paid £300,000 on plastic surgery for his mistress to re-sculpt her to look more like his childhood sweetheart.

The state-run media in the country has published a number of revelations about Lui Jinbao, who was ultimately sacked from his role and received a prison sentence for a number of financial improprieties.

A number of leaked court records about Mr Liu's case have revealed the extraordinary nature of his relationship with his mistress.

The former banking head is reported to have admitted to wanting to make his mistress appear like the high-school sweetheart who rejected him earlier in life.

Leaked records suggest that his relationship with the lady was based on his schoolboy crush with "Chen Chen", the girl who ripped up his first ever love letter.

Mr Liu sent his mistress to plastic surgery clinics in Britain, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong along with a photo of his high school beau in order for surgeons to achieve the correct look.
