The latest craze to hit plastic surgery clinics in the US is the highly sought after Brazilian Butt Lift, according to reports.

Designed to give ladies a pert posterior, the operation began as a craze a few years ago when many people were requesting bottoms like that of Latino superstar Jennifer Lopez, reports HealthNewsDigest.

Utilising fat from unwanted regions of the body such as the hips, legs or stomach, plastic surgeons are now able to re-sculpt women's bottoms in order to recreate those of Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan and Eva Longoria.

Dr Brad Jacobs, a cosmetic surgeon in New York, believes the trend for Brazilian Butt Lifts has increased by around 90 per cent over the last few years.

He explained the procedure saying "we generally take the fat from the lower back and the hips or flank" and adding that "the procedure lasts 20 years or more".

The full recuperation time was around three to four weeks and follow up visits will be needed at some stage, he concluded.
